What is Cosmotheism?

Cosmotheism is a family orientated, Eurocentric philosophical theology derived from pantheism. It is the ultimate synthesis of philosophy and religion. As Cosmotheists we do not believe in a distinct personal or anthropomorphic god, but in the Creator. We know that the universe has natural laws, and has left clues to our divine climb up mount improbable. Nature is our guide in all things, for it is in the natural world in which we reside (as opposed to the super, or extra-natural). We utilize the scientific method and statistical probability to maximize our fitness and quality in this life. We do this not primarily for ourselves, but for our children, and future generations to come. Cosmotheism is about the future of mankind, not its past.

We believe that the Creator is not a distinct entity. He is the whole. We are him, and he is us. Our purpose is his completion, and our destiny is Godhood.

What does this mean? It means that we acknowledge that we live in a universe dictated by natural laws(The Creator). These laws, working together in a infinitely vast algorithm, have created the Cosmos and everything in it. Through the natural selection of chemical elements came the fist single celled organisms, followed by the multicellular. They continued to evolve for hundreds of millions of years, until for the first time (at least on this planet) one of those species developed a higher form of self consciousness.

This species was us, Homo Sapiens. Several hundred years ago, as Europeans began to explore the world, they made startling discoveries about the planet they inhabited. These discoveries shook the very foundations of religious theology, and opened the doors to a true understanding of human origins.

Today, we have accumulated more information about ourselves, and the natural world in which we live then at any point in history, but we feel lost in our everyday lives, searching for a deeper purpose. There seems to be no guidance. The contemperary wisdom is to do as one pleases. To follow ones own desires is held up as the highest morality. Yet, we feel empty. A hollow shell waiting to be filled.

There is a reason for this, and it lies with nature. Man is not a solitary creature. His purpose on this planet is not self fulfillment. His role is a social one, for man has evolved an instinct toward the group. It is by putting others in the forefront of our thinking that we can find any semblance of inner peace. Only through self discipline, education, and selfless action for others will we move closer to being one with the Whole and reach a true understanding of our Creator.

To understand the Creator's purpose for us we must first sharpen our minds. We must crawl before we can walk, we must walk before we can run. This blog will be a guide for anyone seeking enlightenment of the Creator, and a true purpose. The posts will be in a chronological order. This will make it easy to follow our philosophy. For the more advanced reader, links to literature will be posted in each blog. As time progresses, we will be integrating topics and ideas from previous posts. So don't miss out! We encourage you to share these lessons with your family and loved ones. It is imperative for the success of your children to be brought up with knowledge and understanding about the world they have been brought into.
